Abstract

The automatic weighing device for charges of materials has a weight reservoir and a control device which detects the difference between the charge weight and that of the predetermined required amount. A lever arm carries the weight on knife edges and this is carried through to an upper beam also supported on knife edges. The beam movements are conveyed to plungers working in cylinders. The end travel operates switching devices which actuate motors to drive a screw feed mechanism to re-adjust the charge fed to the machine until the required weight is achieved. A digital dial record system (3036) is used to set the limits and check the weight.
