Abstract

Yarn package winding machine of known type comprising >=1 winding spindle, yarn guide and changing device or winding the yarn onto the spindle to form a package; a take-off unit consisting of a guide for parts movable along the winding spindle and carrying an element including the winding spindle for pushing the yarn package along the spindle to a delivery position; yarn guide elements for winding the last turns onto the yarn package in a radial plane; means for putting the take-off unit into action and for bringing the yarn guide elements into the working position when the dia. of the yarn package reaches a pre-determined value, and means for driving the winding spindle, take-off unit and yarn guide elements - incorporating the improvement whereby the yarn feed device consists of a rod associated with each spindle, having an aperture for the yarn and being moved up and down by a connection driven from the spindle.
