Abstract

In a membrane filter unit e.g. for water purification, comprising a filter membrane having a non-woven fibre layer on the side which does not come into contact with the liq. to be purified, at least one of the ends of the fibre flece layer is constructed as a surface layer sealing off the rest of the layer, and pref. co-operting in sealing fashion with the membrane surface. Provides a low cost and reliable seal between the inside of the filter membrane and the surrounding fibre fleece tube.
