Abstract

The tractor-drawn machine is for the treatment of soil against bacteria and other pests by injected liquid or gas underground, having a horizontal injection share on a rigid arm on the frame, drawn along at an adjstable depth below the surface, and under it an injector nozzle connected by pipe to a supply tank. These are followed by a pressure roller on the frame, with in front of it a soil crumbler suspended from the frame. The crumbler (30) is in the form of a roller driven in the opposite direction to that in which the machine travels, with crumbler tines (38) running in a spiral pattern from the centre to both ends. The crumbler roller can be adjustable for height, and it and the pressure roller can both be driven via flexible shafts and chains from the tractor power take-off, the pressure roller at a speed faster than the tractor travel speed.
