Abstract

Wood laminated side panels (1) have differently spaced apertures in which metal rods (3) fit, to interconnect the panels. A plastic tube (7) fits over the rods and is covered with flexible, e.g. foam rubber cylinders (8) which in turn are covered with upholstery material (9), e.g. textile, synthetic or real leather. By using a different pattern for the panel hole spacings, a different contour to suit the anatomy of the user may be achieved. A knurled hand knob engages a stud screwed into each rod end. Tightening of the knob draws side panels against rod end face. Various modifications, e.g. row of chairs, 3 seater settee or separate easy chairs are possible.
