Abstract

The strap consists of two parts, each fed from its own reel, the reels being positioned on either side of the object. The ends of the two parts are connected, and the strap is wrapped in U-shape around the object, the free ends being forced together. Each of the two parts is subsequently clamped at a fixed distance from the other part, at two points whose distance is approximately twice that fixed distance. One part is then cut halfway between these two points and the two cut ends bent towards the second part. This second part is then cut halfway between the two clamping points and the ends bent, pressed against the ends of the first part and connected thereto, whereupon the parts so fixed are released.
