Abstract

The gas fired heating system comprises a feed pipe (6) leading to a two level housing (1, 2, 3) in which the gas flow is limited by a safety valve (4) and a control valve (5a), which is itself backed-up by a piston valve (5b). The pilot light (16) heats a thermocouple (12) which is in circuit with a thermo-electric magnetic switch (13) operating a piston rod (9, 10, 11) inside a pressure bellows (8), to cut off the gas supply if the pilot is not lit. If the system is in order gas flows through the control valve to the burners (20). Ignition of the pilot is by a filament wire (23) fed from the same electrical power circuit as the safety circuit.
