Abstract

The decorative plaster layer is placed on a two dimensionally-shaped article e.g. a column, beam or gutter, by (a) placing a layer of a thixotropic, hardenable adhesive paste, e.g. a filler-contg. polyester resin, on a flexible sheet, (b) placing the decorative aggregate e.g. mineral granules or extruded polymer material, on and in the paste, (c) bonding the sheet etc. to the faces of the article, which have been pretreated with an adhesive layer, and (d) allowing the adhesive paste, and the adhesive layer to harden. The sheet is pref, a bonded glass fibre fleece, and the binder of this fleece does not dissolve in the components of the adhesive paste.
