Abstract

The vessel is a truncated, inverted, hollow cone, in which is mounted a treatment member with its long axis acutely angled to the vessel axis. The member is rotated about the vessel axis and its own axis, simultaneously. A support runner up the length of the vessel and its upper to lower ends are mounted on the vessel axis. The upper end of the support is connected to the rotary drive, and the lower end is rotatably mounted on the base wall of the vessel. The lower end of the member is mounted in the support by a bearing.
