Abstract
Punched mica elements for use in high voltage electrical discharge tubes are provided with an insulating layer by spraying with a suspension of insulating material, and then dipping in a suspension of insulating material. Specif. contg. 7-9 wt.% solids contg. 11-14 pts. Al(OH)2 and 1 pt. SiO2. Process gives a sufficiently thick insulating layer and the suspension penetrates into the narrow splits between the mica layers; thus discharges and leakages do not occur.
