Abstract

Multicoloured irregular patterns on flat surfaced textiles, paper and foil are produced by printing machines combining an arrangement of colour hoppers for feeding viscous solns. and/or suspensions of dyestuffs, either on to a plain roller for transfer by pressure, or directly on to the material to be printed. The hoppers may be arranged side by side or staggered to cover the full width of the surface. They are movable across the line of motion of the material and the pigment outlets are adjustable either by shutters or a rotatable perforated tube.
