Abstract

Alkenyl aromatic polymer compsn. containing a halogen flame-proofing agent characterised in that it also contains a free radical initiator which is a sulphenamide, a hydrozone, an organic disulphide, an azo cpd., a quinone imine or alpha,alpha-diphenyl-alpha-methoxybibenzyl as a flameproofing adjuvant. Also claims a process for improving the self-extinguishing properties of an alkenyl aromatic resin comprising intimately incorporating in said resin a halogen flameproofing agent and 0.1 to 3.0 parts per hundred, of a free radical initiator as specified.
