Abstract

In the mfr. of porous mouldings, such as flat or channel section insulating plates for roof covering etc., by mixing expanded plastic foam pellets with a binder, pref. a bitumen product, which brings about adhesion of the foam plastic to the cement and thereafter mixing the product with water and cement and finally pressing to the desired shape, at the end of the mixing of the expanded plastic pellets and binder a part of the cement is added as dry powder and mixed with the mass until this again only consists of loose pellets, and thereafter the remainder of the cement is added and the whole submitted to a second mixing step with the admission of the desired quantity of water, prior to pressing the product into the desired shape.
