Abstract

Apparatus for reverse osmosis has a support, a cellulose acetate membrane and a porous layer, placed between the membrane and the support which consists of an open called synthetic resin layer pref. polyurethane whose pores are larger than the pores in the membrane, but sufficiently small to provide a smooth support face for the membrane.
