Abstract
Compounds useful for extracting Cu from acid solutions (pH 1.0) have formula: (R, R' are 1-25C saturated aliphatic, 3-25C olefinic aliphatic, or OR" where R" is 1-25C satd. or 3-25C olefinic aliphatic; E = electrophilic group; p = 1-4; m = 0 to 4-p; n = 0-4; in Rm and R'n there are 3-25C). They are almost completely insoluble in water and have solubility >=2% wt. in an organic solvent which is practically unmiscible with water, pref. a liquid hydrocarbon, esp. kerosene. The Cu can be extracted in this solvent containing the title compounds.
