Abstract

Electrolytic surface coating method Method consists of placing a corona discharge electrode outside a bath for electrolytic deposition which contains an electrically insulating liquid in which are dispersed freely moving particles. A film-forming medium covers the particles, or is dissolved in the electrically insulating liquid. Another electrode is placed either in, in contact with or outside the electrolytic deposition bath and an object to be coated is placed between the electrodes so that at least one surface of it is in it contact with the bath. An electric potential is created between the electrodes to produce a corona discharge, as a result of which the particles and the film forming medium are depositred on the surface of the object. Specifically, the film forming medium is dissolved in the insulating liquid and is an alkyd resin, an epoxy ester resin or polybutyl methacrylate, or is suspended in the liquid and consists of polyvinyl acetate and/or nitrocellulose.
