Abstract

Extruded tubes are produced from heated thermoplastic material by pressing the material in separate extrusion periods through a constricted zone out of a first part of an extrusion channel into the die and with an annular passage, and extruding the material through the outlet split of the annular die during at least two extrusion periods. Used for extruding plastic tubes for prodn. of blow moulded containers. The use of two or more extrusion periods causes sufficient memory loss in the plastic material to give tubes with very uniform blow moulding properties.
