Abstract

Roller bearings are provided at regular intervals along the length of the mandrel to support the external face, the bearings being free to turn either on shafts set across a 'U' section channel along the mandrel or on (interchangeable) conical bearings in pairs of stub bearings mounted along the forementioned channel. Fixed bearings found to convey the laid-up GRP tubing more freely than the travelling rows of rolling balls previously used. Pipe size may also be reduced if desired.
