Abstract

The end of a sampler tube which is introduced to the desired sampling point inside a reaction vessel has a restricted inlet. A baffle is welded inside it near its end and one-half of the tube wall is cut off. One of the two resulting semicircular openings is also welded over. If the tube is left open momentarily to atmos., the sudden pressure drop near the inlet stirs up the catalyst particles andsucks them into the tube.
