Abstract
Reaction product of an organometallic derivative of Group IVb metal, hydrogen peroxide, and an aldehyde and ketone, of formula:- (OO-CR2OMR2)n or (OMR2OOCR2)n where M = metal, R 's, same or different, are hydrocarbons, n = 1-1000. Pref. M is Sn or Ge, replaceable groups in organometallic cpd. are OCH3 or Cl. (1) reactants mixed in organic solvent, (2) molal proportions peroxide : aldehyde and peroxide : metal are 0.5:1.5, (3) temp. -10 to 30 deg.C. As oxidising agents, and catalysts for free radical reactions.
