Abstract

A printing ink containing polyisobutylene, pigments and solvents together with linseed oil modified pentaerythintol or glyceryl phthalate alkyd resins, and salts of higher carboxylic acids. The proportions used may vary from 10 to 5,000 parts of oil modified alkyd resin and 1 to 500 parts of salts of carboxylic acids per 100 parts of polyisobutylene. The salts may include Ca, Mg, Pb, Co and Al resinates, linoleates or naphthenates. Toluene, decalin, tetralin and other organic solvents may be employed. The ink is capable of printing a low density polyethylene without previous preparation.
