Description
Connection device for keeping outdoor clothes together
The invention relates to a device for the connection of outdoor clothes, such as gloves, scarves, bonnets etcetera. Such a device is known per se for connecting a pair 5 of gloves or mittens. However, with cold weather more cover means, such as a scarf and a bonnet, are necessary to protect oneself from the cold. Little children often forget or lose one or more mittens or a bonnet and scarf. In many cases, these clothes are part of a set, which will not be complete anymore after losing one or two pieces.
Aim of the invention is to provide a device for connecting outdoor clothes, such 10 as gloves, mittens, scarves etcetera, in such a way that these clothes cannot be lost or forgotten anymore.
This is achieved by a device comprising a back piece and connection means, whereby at least first ends of the connection means are connected to the back piece and whereby second ends of the connection means are provided with retaining means 15 arranged for retaining the outdoor clothes. All outdoor clothes are connected to each other by the back piece.
In an embodiment the first ends of the connection means are each connected to one of at least three sides of the back piece, for instance to an upper side, a first edge and a second edge of the back piece. The connection means and the back piece can be 20 connected by fixation means, like Velcro or buttons or press-studs. They can also be connected by stitching.
In another embodiment, the back piece comprises two connected facing layers. Between said facing layers the connection means at the sides of the back piece are provided. The facing layers and the connection means can be connected by stitching.
25 In a further embodiment, the facing layers can enclose the connection means at the first and second edge of the back piece, whereby the first ends of the connection means can be connected in a continuous way. Thereby, the first ends of the connection means that are enclosed by the facing layers are connected to each other as well.
In a further embodiment, a first part of the facing layers are provided with 30 engaging connection elements, such as Velcro, and a second part of the facing layers is fixedly stitched.
2
In another embodiment, the connection means on the first and the second edge have the same longitudinal dimensions.
In another embodiment, at least two connection means are fixed to the upper side of the back piece, whereby at least one of the connection means has a larger 5 longitudinal dimension.
The connection means can comprise a string or a ribbon. The fixation means can comprise clasping means.
In a further embodiment, a first connection means at the upper side of the back piece is connected to a scarf and a second connection means at the upper side is 10 connected to a bonnet or cap. A third connection means is provided as a loop connected to the upper side of the back piece.
In a further embodiment, the connection means at the first and the second edge of the back piece are connected to gloves or mittens. The outdoor clothes, i.e. bonnet, scarf, mittens, etc., are all provided with a loop arranged for connection to the 15 connection means of the back piece. The connection means of the back piece are provided with a first connection element at the second end and a second connection element engaging with the first connection element, at a distance from the second end. As an example a piece of Velcro can be used. Each connection means is put through a loop of one of the outdoor clothes, whereby the second end of the connection means is 20 folded around the loop and the connection element on the second end is connected to the engaging connection element at a distance from the second end, thereby forming a loop around the loop of the outdoor clothes after establishment of the connection.
The invention is also related to a combination of the device as described above and an overcoat, whereby the overcoat comprises at least a back panel and a collar 25 piece, whereby the back panel is parallel to the back piece of the device with facing surfaces. The back piece is situated at the inside of the overcoat.
In an embodiment of the combination, the facing surfaces of the back panel and the back piece are provided with engaging connection elements, such as Velcro.
In another preferred embodiment of the combination, a loop is provided between 30 the back panel and the collar piece of the overcoat at the inside of the overcoat, whereby the loop connected to the back piece of the device is connected to the overcoat.

Description of embodiments
Figure 1 shows a schematic drawing of one embodiment according to the invention of a device for the connection of outdoor clothes 1. The device comprises a back piece 2, which has at least an upper side 3 and a first and a second edge 4, 5, and 25 connection means 6-9 for connecting the outdoor clothes 11-14 to the back piece. To this purpose, the connection means 6-9 are provided with fixation means 16-19 that engage a respective outdoor garment 11-14. The upper side 3 of the back piece 2 has two connection means 8,9, of which one connection means is arranged for connection to a bonnet or cap 11, a second connection means is arranged for connection to a scarf 30 or shawl 12, and a loop 10, which is arranged for connection to an overcoat 15, as shown in Figure 4 as will be described later.
Figure 2 shows a schematic drawing of the connection between the outdoor clothes 11-14 and the back piece 2. The outdoor clothes 11-14 are all provided with 4 fixation means arranged as a loop 16-19 arranged for connection to the connection means 6-9 of the back piece 2. The connection means 6-9 of the back piece 2 are provided with a first connection element 31, for example a piece of Velcro, at their second end and a second connection element 32 that engages with the first connection 5 means 31, for example a counter piece of Velcro, that is connectable to the first connection element 31, at a distance from the second end. Each connection means 6-9 is put through the loop 16-19 of one of the outdoor clothes 11-14, whereby the second end of the connection means 6-9 is folded around the loop 16-19 and the first connection element 31 on the second end is connected to the second connection 10 element 32 at a distance from the second end, thereby forming a loop around the loop 16-19 of the outdoor clothes 11-14.
Figure 3A shows a detail of the device for the connection of outdoor clothes, whereas Figure 3B shows a schematic drawing of the cross section along line IIIB-IIIB in Figure 3 A. The back piece 2 in the embodiment of Figs. 3 A and B comprises two 15 facing layers 21 and 22, which are for a first part 23 connected by stitching 24 and for a second part 25 with engaging connection elements 26, 27, such as Velcro. As shown in Figure 3A, this second part 25 encloses the first ends of connection means 6, 7 that are continuously connected to each other as well.
Figure 4 shows a schematic drawing of an embodiment of the combination of an 20 overcoat 15 with an embodiment of the device 1 for the connection of outdoor clothes 11-14. The connection means 6, 7 that are connected to the mittens 13, 14 go through the sleeves of the overcoat 15. The device 1 is connected to the overcoat 15 by loop 10, which is connected to the loop 28 provided between the back panel 29 and the collar piece 30 of the overcoat 15 by putting the loop 10 of the back piece through the loop 28 25 of the overcoat 15. In this way the overcoat 15 can be hung on a hook by the loop 10 of the back piece 2, holding the overcoat 15 and outdoor clothes 11-14 together.
It will be apparent to the person skilled in the art that other embodiments of the invention can be conceived and reduced to practice without departing form the true spirit of the invention, the scope of the invention being limited only by the appended 30 claims as finally granted. The description is not intended to limit the invention.
