Description

Fishing lure
The invention relates to a fishing lure having in combination at least a head-end section, a tail-end section and a connecting section for connecting the head-end section to the tail-end section, which connecting section is arranged to allow 5 rotation of the tail-end section with respect to the head-end section.
Such a fishing lure is known from the United States patent application No. US 2008/0078114 Al, published April 3, 2008.
10 The lure that is known from this citation and that is designed with the attempt to realistically imitate motion of a live bait in order to attract more fish to the lure and make it more effective in catching the desired type of fish, has a connecting section that allows a rotation to about 90° relative 15 to the section adjacent to the connecting section without noticeable hindering. In terms of this application rotation is to be understood as a rotation perpendicular to or along the longitudinal axis of the fishing lure.
Albeit that the known fishing lure may have advantages 20 over known designs which are devoid of movable parts such as the designs known from US patent No. 6,941,696 and US patent No.
7,000,346 it is an object of the instant invention to provide a fishing lure with further increased flexibility and effectivity in its use during fishing.
25 In particular the fishing lure of the invention is intended to be effective both when it is moved quickly or slowly through the water.
A further object is that the fishing lure of the invention must be able to be easily converted from one design to 30 the other thereby adapting it to different purposes and providing it with different fishing properties.
Still a further object is to provide a fishing lure that in accordance with the invention will have increased longevity and be capable to resist many fish-bites without being 35 destructed in the process.
Still a further object of the fishing lure according to the invention is that it is easily controllable by the fisherman who makes use of it, such that it will follow a course through the water as determined by the fisherman without exhibiting 2 undeterministic responses.
The fishing lure of the invention is to that end embodied with the features of one or more of the appended claims .
5 A particularly desirable aspect of the fishing lure of the invention is that its connecting section comprises a first fixture and a second fixture arranged in extremities of the head-end section and tail-end section respectively, that in use are adjacent or near to each other, and wherein a rotary coupler 10 is applied for coupling the first fixture with the second fixture, which rotary coupler is arranged to allow for unlimited and continued rotation of the tail-end section with respect to the head-end section.
Due to this design the fishing lure of the invention is 15 usable at any practical speed at which it is moved through the water without loosing its stability and whilst maintaining effective movement of the tail-end section in order to attract attention of the fish which are desired to catch. Due thereto it is also possible to maintain the fishing lure for an extended 20 duration within the eye of the fish to be caught, which is very relevant and a novel feature for fishing lures, in particular fishing lures which are intended for application under the watersurface .
In order to promote the above-mentioned properties of 25 the fishing lure of the invention it is at certain fishing conditions such as the type of fishing or the dimensions of the lure, desirable that the head-end section has a density higher than the density of water, and that the tail-end section has a density lower than the density of water, or vice versa. The 30 fishing lure can thus with a proper selection of densities of head-end section and tail-end section be made to meet the desired properties.
It is further preferable that the rotary coupler of the lure provides a detachable coupling of the first fixture with 35 the second fixture. With this feature it is easy to detach the tail-end section from the head-end section and replace it by another tail-end section having a preferred colour, shape or design which best meets the fishing conditions at a certain time .
40 At times it is advisable that the tail-end section is shaped as a blade or a paddle. This design effectively supports 3 the continuous and uninterrupted rotation of the tail-end section with respect to the head-end section while the fishing lure is in use at any practical moving speed in the water.
In order to best qualify for sub-watersurface 5 applications it is preferable that the head-end section and tail-end section are both of a soft plastic material.
The invention will hereinafter be further elucidated with reference to some exemplary embodiments of fishing lures according to the invention and with reference to the drawing.
10 In the drawing a single Fig. 1 shows four examples of fishing lures according to the invention.
Similar parts of the fishing lures of the invention are indicated with the same reference numerals.
The fishing lure 1 of the invention has in combination 15 at least a head-end section 2, a tail-end section 3 and a connecting section 4 for connecting the head-end section 2 to the tail-end section 3.
The connecting section 4 is embodied with a rotary coupler 5 that provides for an unlimited and continued rotation 20 of the tail-end section 3 with respect to the head-end section 2. This rotary coupler 5 is preferably also embodied such as to allow that the tail-end section 3 can be detached from the head-end section 2 and replaced by an other tail-end section 3.
In order to provide a reliable and effective coupling 25 the connecting section 4 is further embodied with a first fixture 6 in the head-end section 2 and a second fixture 7 in the tail-end section 3 which are immovably placed within said head-end section 2 and tail-end section 3. The rotary coupler 5 arranges for a coupling of the first fixture 6 with the second 30 fixture 7, thus also coupling the head-end section 2 with the tail-end section 3.
The material of the head-end section 2 and the tail-end section 3 is preferably of a soft plastic material wherein the head-end section 2 has a density higher than the density of 35 water and the tail-end section 3 has a density lower than the density of water. It can also be arranged that the head-end section 2 has a density lower than the density of water and that the tail-end section 3 has e density higher than the density of water.
40 As said above the rotary coupler 5 provides a detachable coupling of the first fixture 6 with the second 4 fixture 7 and is arranged to allow an unlimited and continued rotation over 360° and beyond of the tail-end section 3 with respect to the head-end section 2. In order to entertain this continued uninterrupted rotation it is preferable that the tail-5 end section 3 is shaped (as Fig. 1 shows) as a blade or a paddle.
The tail-end section 3 can be of any desirable design and have an appropriate colour or shape which is selected depending on the fishing conditions that are to be met.
