Abstract

Between a compressor (20) and a condenser (11) of the refrigeration installation, the refrigerant vapour flows through a heat recovery heat exchanger (25). The refrigerant vapour delivered by the compressor (20) is mixed with a concentrated absorption medium solution which is supplied e.g. by an injection device (39) and which absorbs a part of the compressed refrigerant vapour, as a result of which the temperature of the mixture flowing through the heat exchanger (25) is increased. After the heat exchanger (25), the solution diluted with refrigerant is separated from the remaining refrigerant vapour in a separator (30). In a concentrating device (35), the solution is subjected to the compressor inlet pressure in order to boil refrigerant off from the solution. The heat necessary for this is extracted from the remaining refrigerant vapour which at least partially condenses in the process. The solution, concentrated again, is supplied to the injection device (39) again. A part of the waste heat of the installation is thus delivered at a higher useful temperature level without the compressor having to be operated in an uneconomical compression range which is detrimental to the refrigerant. <IMAGE>
