Abstract

The present invention comprises a jewelry bag that, in addition to possibly keeping jewelry inside the bag as for example a method of storing the jewelry, enables the user of the bag to utilize jewelry as detachable, functional and/or decorative, components of the jewelry bag. In preferred embodiments of the jewelry bag according to the invention the jewelry that is used as functional or decorative items for the jewelry bag comprises metallic (for example copper, stainless steel, silver, gold or platinum) elements, beads or pearls, gemstones and/or other jewelry components.

Description

JEWELRY BAG
FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to jewelry bags and more specifically to bags that hold jewelry by integrating the jewelry detachably in the bag wherein the jewelry may serve as decorative and/or functional elements of the jewelry bag.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION iG In the present context the term jewelry or jewellery, refer to decorative adornments that are meant to be worn by a people as accessories. In this description and in the claims the term jewelry will be used, since it is a shorter word. Apart from very expensive jewelry that may be stored in a safe, often jewelry tends to be kept in a jewelry box or jewelry pouch. Sometimes, ladies also carry some of their jewelry around in a jewelry pouch in their handbags. In none of the latter situations the jewelry is visible to others. That may be considered to be a pity, since people usually spend guite some money to buy jewelry and, obviously, would like to show it frequently to their friends, acquaintances and/or business contacts. Jewelry can also bean important status symbol for some people. Some of them regret the fact that you can only wear a limited number of jewelry items on your body at the same time. They would basically want to wear as many of their jewelry items simultaneously, if that would not make them look silly. The jewelry bag according to the present invention offers a person the possibility to show some of their jewelry without wearing the jewelry on their body.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention comprises a jewelry bag that, in addition to possibly keeping jewelry inside the bag as for example a method of storing the jewelry, enables the userof the bag to utilize jewelry as detachable, functional and/or decorative, components of the jewelry bag. A person may carry a handbag that comprises a jewelry bag according to the invention in which for example a necklace is used as the carrying handle, a broche is used as the closure of the handbag and one or more earrings as decorative items on the handbag, externally and/or internally. In preferred embodiments of the jewelry bag according to the invention the jewelry that is used as functional or decorative items for the jewelry bag comprises metallic (for example copper, stainless steel, silver, gold or platinum) elements, beads or pearls, gemstones and other jewelry components.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above wilt become apparent when consideration is given to the subsequent detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings, wherein: - FIG. 1 is a perspective front view of an embodiment of the jewelry bag according to the invention with a single strand pearl, bead or gemstone collar in the position of the carrying handle of the bag; - FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the jewelry bag according to the invention with a rigid partially open collar that acts as a handle of the jewelry bag; - FIG. 3 is a perspective front view of an embodiment of the jewelry bag according to the invention with a necklace stored as a wrap around closure of the jewelry bag and with a bracelet at each end of the bag; - FIG. 4 is a perspective front view of an embodiment of the jewelry bag according to the invention with a cut-out window displaying the dial of a watch that is stored inside the jewelry hag;
- FIG, 5 is a perspective front view of a cylindrical embodiment of the jewelry bag according to the invention displaying ear hangers, a ring and a broche that are detachably attached to the jewelry bag; - FIG, 6{a) is a front view of a closed clutch type embodiment of the jewelry bag according to the invention; - FIG, 6{b} is a front view of a clutch type embodiment of a jewelry bag according to the invention in the opened position; - FIG, 7 is a front view of an embodiment of the jewelry hag according to the invention displaying a pendant, bracelets and ear rings. ig in the drawings identical or like reference numbers are used to indicate identical or like parts in the various embodiments of the jewelry bag. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The jewelry bag according to the present invention provides the user of the bag the possibility of simultaneously storing and showing her jewelry. The inventor has provisionally dubbed the invention the ‘Bag Bijoux’ with the aim of emphasizes its double function, The invention will now be discussed in detail with reference to the attached drawings of various embodiments. FIG. 1 Is a perspective front view of an embodiment 10 of the jewelry bag according to the invention with a necklace, In this example a single strand pearl or bead collar 30, that has been threaded through holes in the closing flap of the bag enabling the use of the necklace as the carrving handle of the bag. Of course this embodiment of the jewelry bag can also receive other types of necklaces in this handle position. Theembodiment of the jewelry bag according to the invention shown in FIG. 1 also comprises a broche or broche-like piece of jewelry 40, like for example pins, hereinafter all referred to as broche 40, that is displayed at the bottom on the left side of the jewelry bag.
The broche 40 may comprise for example a designer's name or a jewelry brand name.
FIG, 2 is a front view of an embodiment 11 of the jewelry bag according to the invention with a rigid partially open collar that acts as a handle of the jewelry bag.
This embodiment 11 of the jewelry bag comprises slots in the bag to receive the two end sections of the rigid partially open collar 31. Like the embodiment of the jewelry bag shown in FIG. 1 the embodiment shown in FIG. 2 also comprises a displayed broche 40 at the bottom on the left side of the bag.
FIG. 3 is a perspective front view of an embodiment 12 of the jewelry bag according to the invention with a necklace 32 wrapped around the bag as a closing element of the jewelry bag.
Small straps 20 at the top and the bottom of the bag prevent the necklace from moving sideways unintentionally.
Moreover, this embodiment comprises two bracelets, respectively 50 and 51, threaded through holes in the bag at each end of the two ends of the jewelry bag.
FIG. 4 is a perspective front view of an embodiment 13 of the jewelry bag according to the invention with a cut-out window in the front face of the jewelry bag displaying the dial of a watch 60 that is stored inside the jewelry bag.
In addition, this embodiment holds another watch 61 with the dial facing upward and the wrist band of the watch acting as a means for keeping the jewelry bag closed.
The invention envisions that the jewelry bag according to the invention can store or hold and display any type of watch, Le. watches with rectangular or square dials or watches with dials that have an essentially round or oval or polygon shape and for example watches with a leather or metallic band, for example a spring-like band.
The embodiment of the jewelry bag shown in FIG. 4 also comprises the broche 40 as shown in the earlier embodiments.
Of course, it is not a requirement that the embodiments of the jewelry bags according to the invention comprise receiving meansfor displaying one or more broches or broche-like jewels, but it is a feature of many of the invention’s embodiments.
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a cylindrical embodiment 14 of the jewelry bag according to the invention displaying pendants 80, a ring 70 and a broche 40. In this 5 embodiment the ring 70 is inserted in a slot in the cylindrical surface of the bag andsecured in position by fixation means on the inside of the bag.
The invention comprises embodiments of the jewelry bag with an almost infinite number of fixation means for jewelry that is inserted in or attached to the bag for functional and/or decorative purposes.
In view of the prominent role of the ring in the cylindrical embodiment 14 ofthe jewelry bag and in view of the round shape of this embodiment of the jewelry bag, the inventor has provisionally dubbed this embodiment the ‘Bag Bague’ derived from the French word for ring.
FIG. 6{a) is a front view of a closed clutch type embodiment 15 of the jewelry bag according to the invention.
In this embodiment the jewelry bag comprises a shortnecklace 33 that is attached to the top right corner of the bag and multiple ear hangers, also referred to as earrings, attached to the top left corner of the jewelry bag.
FIG. 6(b) is a front view of a clutch type embodiment of a jewelry bag according to the invention in the opened position.
In this embodiment a part of a long necklace 34 or waist chain is positioned along a folding seam of the bag and will be locked up in thebag, thus allowing the bag to be carried by a person by holding the necklace or waist chain, after the bag is closed.
Moreover, this embodiment of the jewelry bag according to the invention comprises two holes 82 that are meant to receive the studs of stud earrings as a means of attaching the earrings to the jewelry bag.
The invention includes jewelry bags with multiple holes that enable the user to attach earrings to the jewelrybag in multiple positions.
In a number of embodiments of the jewelry bag according to the invention at least a part of the surface of the bag comprises a perforated material with relatively smal! perforation, thus offering a multitude of options for the positioning of jewelry on the bag.
G FIG, 7 is a front view of an embodiment 16 of the jewelry bag according to the invention displaying a pendant, bracelets, earrings and a broche. This embodiment 16 of the jewelry bag according to the invention shows a pendant 83 at the left top comer of the bag and two bracelets 52 and 53 at the top right corner of the bag. Furthermore, it shows pendants 84 at the top right corner and a broche at the bottom left corner of the bag. Summarizing, it can be concluded that the jewelry bag according to the present invention is a jewelry bag that enables a user to display pieces of jewelry by inserting 19 such pieces in or attaching them to the jewelry bag in a removable way, whereby the pieces of jewelry may assume the role of a functional and/or decorative element of the bag, With respect to the type of jewelry the Invention envisions a wide variety comprising for example one or more of the following components/materials: pearls, beads, gemstones, platinum, gold, silver, stainless steel and copper. The invention includes any method of fixing pieces of jewelry visibly and detachably to the jewelry bag. Therefore, the jewelry bag according to the invention is not limited to only engage with jewelry that has been designed specifically for the jewelry bag according to the invention, but can engage with almost any piece of jewelry. In order to emphasize the latter characteristic of the jewelry bag according to the invention, the jewelry bag according to the invention will be referred to with the adjective universal, As described above, the invention may especially be embodied in the following embodiments, wherein the embodiments are merely numbered for reference reasons.

6. The jewelry bag according to any of the preceding embodiments, wherein, at least one of the pieces of jewelry comprises a ring (70).
7. The jewelry bag according to any of the preceding embodiments, wherein, at least one of the pieces of jewelry comprises an earring.
8. The jewelry bag according to any of the preceding embodiments, wherein, at least one of the pieces of jewelry comprises a pendant (80). S. The jewelry bag according to any of the preceding embodiments, wherein, the bag comprises one or more of the components or materials from the group comprising pearls, gemstones, beads, platinum, gold, silver, stainless steel and copper. The invention further applies to a jewelry bag comprising one or more of the characterizing features described in the description and/or shown in the attached drawings. in the present disclosure the terms “upward” and “downward” shall be construed to refer to respectively the direction of the top and the bottom of the jewelry bag.
The various aspects discussed in this application can be combined in order to provide additional advantages. Further, the person skilled in the art will understand that embodiments can be combined, and that also more than two embodiments can be combined.
