Abstract

The purpose of this invention is to protect the brake pads and brake discs of cyclists who regularly seek sand, dust and mud with their bikes against unnecessary and excessive wear. In practice, it appears that brake pads cannot cope with the wear and tear effect of the dust, sand or mud. By preventively wiping the brake disc, it is prevented that the sand, dust or mud can do the destructive work. As a result, the driver and / or owner will continue to use their brake pads for longer before he or she has to incur costs again by replacing the brake pads or brake discs or having them replaced. In addition, this preventive and permanent working solution also benefits the environment because less brake dust and fine dust is produced.

Description

This invention protects the brake pads, brake discs and calipers of bicycles, mountain bikes, MTBs and ATBs, and other related two-wheeled or three-wheeled vehicles, against excessive wear caused by dust, sand and mud.

In the profile made of a plastic, aluminum, magnesium or titanium, sliders are placed that are made from natural fiber, synthetic fiber, fiberglass, plastic, brass, copper, steel or stainless steel. By inserting into the unit (fig. 1), with slider (fig. 3) made of natural fiber, synthetic fiber or metal fiber on both sides of the brake disc, this unit will wipe the dust, sand and mud off the brake disc before this can reach the brake pads and damage these brake parts.

An adapter (fig.2) is placed on the brake caliper onto which the protection unit (fig. 1) is slid. As a result, the protection unit fits on every brake disc, so that the different diameters of the brake discs do not require adjustments to the protection unit. The protection unit is pushed to size over the adapter so that it can be used on any size of brake disc.

Claims (1)

This invention aims to reduce the wear of mountain bike brakes. It is a fact that brakes get dirty when driving in a sand, mud and / or dusty environment. The driver of the bicycle who regularly cycles in environments where he has to drive through the sand, through the dust and / or through the mud, benefits greatly from this discovery. The dust, sand and mud get stuck between the brake parts, giving extra wear to the parts. This leads to more frequent maintenance and replacement of brake pads and discs. The brake protector ensures that the dust, sand and mud are wiped away before it can get between the brake disc and the brake pads. This makes a huge difference in maintenance, replacements of parts, in time and money. In addition, there is less wear and tear on friction material, which also benefits the environment and human and animal health.
