Claims

A golf club cleaning device comprising a receiving member suitable for receiving a liquid and having an insertion opening for the club head of a golf club and in which, at least in use, a cleaning member is included with a holder with it cleaning elements extending at least substantially sideways to the inside of the receiving member, characterized in that the insertion opening is at least substantially closed by at least one sealing member which deviates from a starting position in which the insertion opening is at least substantially sealed when a club head is moved into or out of the pick-up member through the insertion opening and thereafter at least substantially returns to the starting position.

2. Cleaning device as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the insertion opening has a cross-section whose value lies in the range of 80 to 250 mm.

3. Cleaning device as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the at least one sealing member can be releasably secured in the insertion opening.

4. Cleaning device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the at least one sealing member comprises a resilient rubber flap.

5. Cleaning device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that a number of sealing members is provided.

6. Cleaning device as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that a number of somewhat stiff elongated sealing members are provided.

7. Cleaning device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that fixing means are provided for fixing the cleaning member in the receiving member.

8. Cleaning device as claimed in one or more of the foregoing claims, characterized in that the cleaning member comprises a sleeve with brushes directed at least substantially towards the center of the sleeve.

Cleaning device according to claim 8, characterized in that the sleeve is formed by a flexible mat rolled into a cylinder.

Cleaning device according to claim 8 or 9, characterized in that the diameter of the tube is larger than the diameter of the insertion opening 1036395.

A cleaning device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the receptacle has a hard shell.

12. Cleaning device as claimed in one or more of the foregoing claims, characterized in that the receiving member comprises at least two releasably attachable parts to each other.

Cleaning device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cleaning device comprises suspension means.

14. Cleaning device as claimed in one or more of the foregoing claims, characterized in that the insertion opening, at least at least in the position of use, is provided at least substantially in the upper half of the receiving member.
