Fireplace, in particular for burning gas or wood, at least comprising a combustion space formed by a rear wall, a bottom wall, an upper wall and two side walls, which combustion space can be closed on a first, front open side by means of an at least partially transparent panel, characterized in that the panel is clampingly received in the open side of the combustion space and that at least one of the side walls is foldable for removing the panel from the fireplace.

Fireplace according to claim 1, characterized in that the side wall is hingedly connected to the rear wall.

3. Fireplace as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the panel with its lower edge can be received in an undercut arranged near the lower edge.

4. Fireplace as claimed in claim 3, characterized in that the panel with its upper edge can be received in an upper rebate arranged near the upper wall, wherein the upper rebate is provided upwards with a receiving space for the upper edge of the panel.

5. Fireplace according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that means are provided for folding away the side wall.

Fireplace as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that the means comprise a pivot pawl supporting against the side wall.

7. Fireplace as claimed in claim 6, characterized in that the pivotal pawl is hingedly connected to the fixed world of the fireplace.

8. Fireplace as claimed in claim 7, characterized in that the pivotal pawl is slidably received in a slot arranged in a pivot plate connected to the side wall.

Fireplace according to claim 8, characterized in that the swivel plate is provided with a bent end edge.

10. Fireplace as claimed in claim 8 or 9, characterized in that an opening is provided above the upper rebate and the top wall for manually moving the swivel plate and the side wall. 1 034055
