De oplossing voor dit probleem zijn een aantal luchtzakken welke geactiveerd worden op het moment dat een voertuig in het water belandt. De luchtzakken welke in opgevouwen situatie beginnen en hierdoor dus geplaatst kunnen worden in deuren, dorpels, bumpers, dakrail, 10 vleugels, romp, rotor, staart, etc. De locatie en het formaat is afhankelijk van het benodigde drijivermogen met betrekking tot het zwaartepunt en gewicht van het voertuig. Een belangrijke luchtzak is benodigd in de dakrail of rotor om een kanteling inwerking te stellen op het moment dat het voertuig op z’n kop in het water belandt, zodat het voertuig of vliegtuig / helikopter maximaal tot een zijwaartse kanteling in staat is. Het activeringssysteem is opgebouwd uit een 15 sensor met tijdsvertraging tegen bijvoorbeeld spatwater, zoals bijvoorbeeld een vlotter of een contactsensor, of handbediening, in de vorm van bijvoorbeeld een noodschakelaar op het dashboard of bedieningspaneel, en een opblaasmechanisme wat bijvoorbeeld gebruikmaakt van gaspatronen of een luchtpomp. De luchtzakken zullen na activering gevuld worden met lucht of ander gas wat zorgt voor het drijivermogen, deze luchtzakken moeten voor een bepaalde tijd een 20 drijivermogen garanderen.The solution to this problem is a number of air pockets that are activated when a vehicle ends up in the water.
