De uitvinding heeft betrekking op een steun voor een draagbare computer voorzien van een behuizing en een 5 scharnierend daaraan bevestigd beeldscherm. Steunen voor draagbare computers zijn als zodanig bekend, bijvoorbeeld uit US-A-5,722,624. Bij de bekende steunen wordt er naar gestreefd vooral het keyboard, dat deel uitmaakt van de behuizing, wat gunstiger te positioneren. Bij de 10 onderhavige uitvinding wordt er van uit gegaan dat dit nooit kan leiden tot een ergonomisch verantwoorde opstelling, zodat problemen voor de gebruiker, in de vorm van schouder- en nekklachten op den duur onvermijdelijk zijn. Verder wordt er van uitgegaan dat een klein keyboard, 15 zoals dat op een draagbare computer aanwezig is, niet geschikt is om lange tijd te benutten. Daarom wordt als uitgangspunt genomen dat bij langer gebruik, bijvoorbeeld op kantoor, een separaat keyboard op de draagbare computer wordt aangesloten. Een bijkomend voordeel is dat men veel 20 vrijer is bij het positioneren van het beeldscherm. De lijmplaats 20 kan enigszins verdiept worden uitgevoerd, zodat pianoscharnier 15 er deels in verzinkt. Bij voorkeur is pianoscharnier 15 aan de uiteinden afgeschuind, zoals aangegeven in de figuur. Vlak 17 tussen de 30 onderbroken lijnen geeft aan waar pianoscharnier 15 dient te worden bevestigd, bij voorkeur gelijmd. De scharnierlijn is weer aangegeven door hartlijn 16. Vlak 17 kan enigszins verdiept worden uitgevoerd, zodat pianoscharnier 15 er deels in verzinkt. Vlakke plaat 8 is voorzien van holtes 35 11a,11b,.. die bijvoorbeeld 4 mm diep zijn geboord, waarin 1ö 1 7 29 1 5 staaf 10 kan worden geplaatst, voor het verkrijgen van een gewenste hoek tussen de eerste en de tweede vlakke plaat. Onder holte lli kan een rubber dopje 18 worden geplaatst, waardoor verschuiven wordt voorkomen en er geen krassen op 5 de ondergrond ontstaan.
