De innovatie heeft betrekking op de toevoeging van tryptofaan aan melkdrank. Onder melkdrank wordt in dit verband verstaan gepasteuriseerde, niet-gefermenteerde, dunvloeibare 'en 5 dikvloeibare consumptiemelkproducten. Onder tryptophaan wordt in dit verband verstaan L-tryptofaan of L5-Hydroxy L-tryptofaan.The innovation relates to the addition of tryptophan to milk drinks. In this context milk drink is understood to be pasteurized, non-fermented, thin-liquid and thick-liquid drinking milk products. In this context, tryptophan is understood to mean L-tryptophan or L5-Hydroxy L-tryptophan.
Met de innovatie wordt beoogd, door consumptie van een met tryptofaan verrijkte melkdrank, de spiegel van de neurotransmitter serotonine in het menselijk lichaam te verhogen. L-tryptofaan wordt in het menselijk lichaam omgezet in L5-Hydroxy L-tryptofaan waarna L5-10 Hydroxy L-tryptofaan vervolgens weer wordt omgezet in de neurotransmitter serotonine.
