GEWASGELEIDE SCHOFFELMACHINECROP-GUIDE HOE MACHINE
The invention relates to a crop-guided hoeing machine, which is used in weed control in rows of standing crops. Machines such as these are known from patent applications 1007106 NL, 1010070 NL and 98203628.7 EU. These are hoes, which want to move laterally towards the crop row due to the shape of the hoe knife - when the hoeing operation is started. This lateral displacement of a hoe is stopped in the vicinity of the crop row by a limiter which is directly or indirectly attached to the hoe and which supports against the crop row and / or by another hoe which wants to move in opposite directions. In contrast to the above-mentioned patent applications, the lateral displacement of the hoeing knife towards the crop row in this invention is not generated by the shape of the hoeing knife, but by the weight of the hoeing machine and / or by the pulling force exerted on the hoeing machine and / or by an act of the person operating the hoeing machine. As a result, the lateral force does not have to be permanent in nature, as a result of which the rowed crop is less loaded by the guiding means.
The invention aims - similarly to the above patent applications - to reduce the strip of non-hoeed soil on either side of the crop row. In conventional hoe machines, where the hoes are steered by the driver and not by the crop row, this strip of untreated soil soon has a width of 10 cm on either side of the crop row, so that at a row distance of, for example, 75 cm, we hoeed which results in a conversion rate of 55/75 = 73%.
This relatively low cultivation rate is often necessary for conventional traditional hoes to prevent driver steering errors from resulting in excessive plant loss. Since in this application, and the aforementioned patent applications, the hoes are self-steering within a certain margin (i.e. are guided through the crop), the driver's steering errors are less likely to result in plant loss, as it is possible to hoe shorter along the crop row.
A characteristic of this invention is that the crop-guided hoes are arranged in groups, whereby not every hoe has its own parallelogram for the lateral movements, but it does have its own parallelogram for the height adjustment. In addition, the guide means not only controls the crop-guided hoe, but also the height adjustment of this hoe.
In geheven positie staan deze schoffels enigszins ofA non-binding example of a hoeing machine in which the movement of the hoeing blade towards the crop row by the gravity (= the weight of the machine) is schematic. shown in figure 1. Figure 1A shows the top view in lifted position, figure 1B the top view in working position, figure 1C the side view in lifted position and figure 1D the side view in working position (for simplicity, figures A and B show the wheels are not shown, and the parallelograms for the sideways movements are not shown in fig. C and D). Figures 1A and B: The crop-guided hoes (1) working on the right side of the crop row are connected to a parallelogram (2), and the crop-guided hoes (3) on the left side of the crop row (3) to another parallelogram (4). In the raised position these hoes are slightly or
In de figuren 1Cone after the other (low processing percentage), so that the hoeing machine does not have to be placed exactly in the right place at the start of the hoeing. In the raised situation, the telescopic running wheels of the hoeing machine (5) in figure 1C are in the extended position. When the machine is placed on the ground, the telescopic magnifying wheels 15 want to retract under the influence of the weight of the machine (fig. 1D). This retracting movement is then used to cause the crop-guided hoes to move towards the crop row. This can be done very simply, for example, by means of a steel cable (6) with a jacket, as shown partly in Figures A, B, C and D. A spring (8) can be mounted on / between the steel cable to allow the hoeing machine to immediately lower completely to the ground, whereby the crop-guided hoes only start moving towards the crop row 20 (7) after starting the hoeing operation. turn into. In Figures 1C
Another feature, which is not shown in the figures, but can for instance be implemented by means of two steel cables mounted between a low point on the tractor and the two parallelograms, ensures that the crop-guided hoes on either side of the crop row are pulled apart when the hoeing machine is levied.
These crop-guided or self-steering hoes can optionally also be used in combination with conventional hoe-driven hoes, whereby the above-mentioned crop-guided hoes increase the processing percentage of the hoe machine as a whole.
A non-binding example of a hoeing machine in which the lateral displacement is effected by the tensile force exerted on the hoeing machine is schematically shown in figure 2. Figure 2A shows the side view in starting position and figure 2B in working position.
In both figures the tightening points (in the direction of travel) are slidably attached to the hoeing machine, which makes it possible to use the applied tensile force on the hoeing machine to cause the crop-guided hoes acting on either side of the crop row to move towards each other (eg by by means of a steel cable (6) with sheath, as also the figures 1 are mentioned).

A non-binding example of a detail of the hoeing machine of Figures 1 and 2 is schematically shown in Figure 3. The hoe blade (1/3) with the hoe stem (10) 5 attached thereto is placed in the hoe stem holder (13). This hoe stem holder is attached to the frame of a group of crop-guided hoes via the height adjustment parallelogram (9), which in turn are attached to the frame of the hoeing machine via the sideways parallelogram. Directly or indirectly (here indirectly via the hoe handle) the guide means (12) is mounted on the hoe handle, which guides the crop-guided hoe along the crop row. A hinge (11) between guide means on hoe stem allows good ground following of the guide means.
With the hoe stem holder the hoe knife can be varied in height with respect to the guiding means.
