Abstract

The trays are arranged in rows on top of supports formed by carriers and balancing arms. The arms are pivotably supported at their midpoints by a carrier, enabling them to be pivoted in a vertical plane. Trays are supported at both ends of the arm, allowing their weight to be distributed over both sides of the arm. The arms can be bolted into various pivoted positions. Arm length (bal), tray size and the distance (hoh-k) between carriers in different rows (A-D) of trays are chosen so that when the arms lie horizontal the trays are spread out evenly over the storage area, but when arms in two adjacent rows (A, B ; B, C ; C, D) are pivoted then a work region (E) is created between the neighbouring trays by a vertical and horizontal displacement (vv, hv) of these trays.
