Abstract

The offshore platform is towed to its intended location and is provided with suitable pontoons to ensure stability during transport. After positioning, the frame with the suction piles is lowered onto the sea-bed. The suction piles, by means of the water being sucked away from them, i.e. by means of creating an air column within them connected with the atmosphere, penetrate into the sea bed and then the platform is anchored. The top side is then raised by the use of a jack installation until it is above the feed. The top side is then fixed to the feet.
