Abstract

Besides the picture (4) itself, the frame has only two loose parts. The transparent front panel (2) is permanently fixed into the frame (3). The materials from which the frame and panel are made are chosen so that they can be easily joined, e.g. by localised heat treatment. A suitable material would be a form of polycarbonate. The picture (4) is retained in the frame by a backing plate (1), which slides sideways into grooves on the frame. The back board may be made from wood, plastic or even robust cardboard.
