Abstract

A pickup truck tailgate lift assist device comprises a base section (54) comprising a threaded rod (81) adjacent to a polygonal bar (82), a coupling (55) comprising two opposite ends that is a first end and a second end, a device fixing the coupling (55) with the polygonal bar (82), a device fixing the coupling (55) with a hole-insert section (94), a torsion bar (56), a friction preventing device for preventing the torsion bar (56) from friction against the lower tailgate panel, a friction preventing device for preventing a hole-insert section at the tailgate (91) from friction against the hole (49) at the tailgate (37), a device transmitting force from the torsion bar (56) towards the tailgate and the lock plate (67). The pickup truck tailgate lift assist device acts to resist the tailgate (37) from swinging down forcefully while opening the tailgate (37), and help the user not apply much force to lift the tailgate (37) swung up when closing the tailgate (37).
