Abstract

An exhaust structure in a straddle type vehicle comprises an exhaust pipe (31) extended form an engine and a muffler (32) connected to the exhaust pipe (31). The muffler (32) includes a main body (33) that defines an expansion chamber (333), and a tubular end cap (34) attached to a rear end portion (336) of the main body (33) via a connecting stay (35) provided in the main body (33). The end cap includes: a peripheral wall portion (341) that surrounds a periphery of the connecting stay (35), a projecting portion (342) that projects from an inner peripheral surface (341a) of the peripheral wall portion (341) to a side of the connecting stay (35) and engages with the connecting stay (35); and a fastening hole (343a, 343b) which is formed in the peripheral wall portion (341) and through which a fastening member (37a, 37b) that fastens the connecting stay (35) and the end cap extends.
