Abstract
The present invention relates to method of detecting dengue virus in a biological sample, comprising the steps of: isolating ribonucleic acid from the biological sample; subjecting the ribonucleic acid to a reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification in a single-tube reaction using sets of primers; and detecting amplified products to determine presence of the dengue virus; characterised in that the sets of primers comprise nucleotide sequences according to SEQ ID NO. 1-6 specific for dengue virus serotype 1; SEQ ID NO. 7-12 specific for dengue virus serotype 2, SEQ ID NO. 13-18 specific for dengue virus serotype 3; and SEQ ID NO. 19-24 specific for dengue virus serotype 4.
