Abstract
The present invention relates to a novel catalytic method for limonene conversion to L-carvone. In particular, it relates to a novel catalyst and associated catalyst pre-treatments for producing L-carvone in high yield and purity without using a solvent. The disclosed method does not employ solvent for the reaction to occur, i.e. solvent-free reaction conditions and produces high yield of up to 95% of carvone as the final product. (Figure 1)
