Abstract
According to one embodiment, a system for inspecting a rope of an elevator includes a mark detection unit (21) which detects a plurality of marks provided at regular intervals in a longitudinal direction of the rope to be inspected, a pulse generation unit (22) which generates a pulse signal in synchronization with movement of the rope, and a calculation unit (23) which calculates intervals between the marks based on detection timing of the marks by the mark detection unit (21) and count values of pulse signals output from the pulse generation unit (22), and determines a state of degradation of the rope from a result of calculation.
