Abstract
A glass substrate for an information recording medium of the present invention has a glass composition in which specific content ranges of constituent components are satisfied, and in mol%, the following conditions: SiO2+A12O3+B2O3: 67 to 82%; Li2O+Na2O+K2O: 8 to 20%; and MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+ZnO: 10 to 28% are satisfied, and the following ratios: 0.85<SiO2/(SiO2+A12O3+B2O3)<0.95; 0.3<SLi2O/(Li2O+Na2O+K2O)<0.7; and 0.8<MgO/(MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+ZnO)<0.99 are satisfied.
