Abstract

A steel part according to the present invention has a surface which is in contact with a rolling-bearing. At a depth of 0 .1 mm from the surface, the amount of retained austenite is 50 vol% or more, and the Vickers hardness HV is 710 or more. According to the present invention, there is provided a steel part having a long flaking life in which flaking is suppressed at a surface that is in contact with a rolling-bearing, as well as a production method thereof.
