Abstract

An oxidation basin (12) according to the invention includes a diluted seawater supply line (L14) that is connected to a basin body, and supplies diluted seawater (13b) for dilution to sulfur content absorbing seawater (14) containing sulfur content discharged from a flue-gas desulfurization absorber (11), an aeration device (31) that is provided inside the basin body, and supplies air (33) to the sulfur content absorbing seawater (14) discharged from the flue-gas desulfurization absorber (11), and a dissolved oxygen level measurement device (32) that is provided inside the basin body, and measures a dissolved oxygen level in the sulfur content absorbing seawater (14), and is characterized by adjusting an amount of air supplied to the sulfur content absorbing seawater (14) from the aeration device (31) based on a relation between a length of the oxidation basin (12) obtained in advance and a dissolved oxygen level in the sulfur content absorbing seawater (14).
