Abstract
A method for evaluating a coated film thickness of wax includes: a temperature acquisition step of acquiring a surface temperature of a member to be coated (3) before coating of the wax (15) and a back surface temperature of a region (9) coated with the wax (15) by capturing an image of the member to be coated (3) by an infrared thermograph (6); an actual temperature difference calculation step of calculating an actual temperature difference between the back surface temperature of the coated region (9) and the surface temperature before the coating; a theoretical formula derivation step of deriving, based on a wax coating condition for the member to be coated (3), a theoretical formula indicating relation between a temperature difference between the back surface temperature of the coated region (9) and the surface temperature before the coating, and a coated film thickness of the wax (15); and a coated film thickness evaluation step of evaluating the actual coated film thickness of the wax (15) from the actual temperature difference by using the theoretical formula.
