Abstract

The present invention relates to reactor design technology, and more specifically, to a combined active and passive reactor cavity water injection cooling system. It comprise a passive injection tank (1) and injection pump (3), the passive injection tank (1) being connected to a reactor cavity (2) through passive injection lines, injection 10 pump (3) being disposed outside a containment (5), an suction pipe of injection pump (3) being connected to a refueling water tank (4) and the discharge pipes of injection pump (3) penetrating through the containment (5) and connected to the reactor cavity (2). As a countermeasure against severe accidents and by virtue of redundant and more than one configuration, this combined active and passive system can take away molten corium, remove core heat and prevent burn-through in the event of accidents.
