Abstract

The present invention relates to a body having fine concave portions and convex portions formed in at least a part of the surface (20). The fine concave portions and convex portions include a wave-shape corrugated pattern (13) and a plurality of concave portions or convex portions formed on the wave-shape corrugated pattern; the wave-shape corrugated pattern includes a plurality of convex ridges (13a) that are irregularly formed and concave furrows (13b) between the convex ridges; the plurality of concave ridges meander non-parallel to one another; the most frequent pitch of the plurality of convex ridges is in a range from 3 to 20 ?m; and the most frequent value of apparent diameter of the concave portions or the convex portions is in a range from 1 to 10 ?m. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an easily produced body having fine concave portions and convex portions in a surface thereof, and a production method thereof. When used as a light diffusing body, the body having fine concave portions and convex portions in a surface thereof has some angle of diffusion even in the direction orthogonal to the primary diffusion direction, while maintaining the angle of diffusion in the primary diffusion direction.
