Abstract
This invention relates to a wastewater treatment plant comprising: a pre-treatment section comprising a first aerated equalization tank (11) for receiving wastewater and either biologically or chemically, or in combination treating thereof; a tank (12) for receiving discharge from the first equalization tank for separation into flocs and liquid effluent; and a biological treatment section connected downstream to the pre-treatment section comprising an aeration tank (21i) containing bacterially-active sludge for receiving the liquid effluent from the pre-treatment section; and a clarifier (22i) connected downstream of the aeration tank for separating liquid from used activated sludge by gravitation, an activated sludge recycling section (30) comprising a second aerated equalization tank connected between the pre-treatment section and biological treatment section for collecting and recycling used activated sludge through the treatment plant and another biological treatment section comprising another aerated equalization tank and another tank for receiving discharge therefrom.
