Abstract
The present invention discloses a dynamic IPv6 configuration method for a home gateway, including steps of: establishing a WAN connection with an Internet attribute routing mode (S3) and determining a IPv6 configuration manner (S4) for the home gateway in a PPPoE dialing manner and according to a dynamic combination of PPPoE dialing options of an "obtain an address" and an "obtain a prefix"; starting a dialing process (S1), creating an interface for the dialing process, invoking, by the dialing process, an executable script ipv6-up (S2), generating a corresponding request according to the IPv6 configuration manner of the home gateway (S4), starting a DHCPv6 client in the gateway (S6b), and combining a stateful auto-configuration and a stateless auto-configuration, to implement the dynamic IPv6 configuration of the home gateway. By choosing to acquire an address, the home gateway may acquire an IPv6 global unicast address of a network interface on a WAN side and access an IPv6 network. By choosing to obtain an address and obtain a prefix, a home gateway user may acquire an IPv6 global unicast address and access IPv6 network resources. Figure 2
