Abstract
The present invention relates to an apparatus, aluminum electrolysis reduction cell, for producing primary aluminum by Hall-Heroult process, particularly to a method for eliminating horizontal electrical current in aluminum liquid in an aluminum electrolysis reduction cell. An electrical conductor is disposed in the lower portion of or below a cathode carbon block, and the electrical conductor directly runs out of the cell bottom. The present invention eliminates horizontal electrical current in aluminum liquid in the electrolysis reduction cell, makes distribution of electrical current density on the surface of the cathode carbon block more uniform, improves electrical current efficiency, greatly enhances stability of aluminum electrolysis reduction cell, and prolongs the working life of the cell. The present invention exhibits a great applicability. The horizontal electrical current problem in the aluminum liquid can be solved thoroughly by the method of the present invention, and this method is of great guiding significance for development of large-sized aluminum electrolysis reduction cells.
