Abstract

A molding die for a hard disk glass substrate is provided that hardly reacts with glass, has high abrasion resistance and durability, and provides excellent releasability of molded glass from a surface of the molding die. The molding die is a molding die for a hard disk glass substrate containing silicon carbide-carbon composite ceramic. The silicon carbide-carbon composite ceramic contains 15 to 50 parts by weight of carbon with respect to 100 parts by weight of silicon carbide, and the carbon has a mean particle diameter in a range of 0.3 to 100 p.m.
